A Message from Our Principal

Dear Ranger Families,

It is with great pride and excitement I write a letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed principal of the Northwest Area Intermediate School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of educational excellence. I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than nineteen years. I worked with a variety of students ranging from second grade through alternative education in high school. My most recent educational experiences were at Central Columbia Middle School where I taught science, math, and social studies in both fifth and seventh grade. I am excited and eager to bring my skills, as an educational leader, to the Northwest Area Intermediate School and work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.

This year has been filled with opportunities. The teachers and faculty have done an amazing job providing quality academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant, and allow for real-world connections.

Along with the teachers and staff, I will work diligently to continue the legacy of success at the school by building strong relationships with parents, students, teachers, and community stakeholders. Our main focus will be on character education initiatives, common core skills, the use of data to drive instruction, and providing consistent implementation of a rigorous curriculum so that we can continue to increase student achievement.

As your principal, everyone who walks into the intermediate building must be excited about the opportunities afforded at Northwest. This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. I encourage your involvement and participation in our learning community. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

I look forward to working as a team to help each student at the intermediate school meet their goals and have a successful end to their school year!

Sincerely,

Daniel Yarnell

Daniel Yarnell, Intermediate School Principal
